Red after in status line

For approximately the past week I have been getting what looks like spam for somewhere.  I find a red star in my notificatifications and when I click on it, it goes to the browser for an ad.  I don't know what it is or how to get ride of it appearing.  It has been happening for about the past week in the late afternoon.  So what does this mean and how do I stop it.  Thanks.

Hello Meowkitkat,

I would be happy to assist with the red star on your device. May I ask what type of phone do you have?

I've also been getting a red star in my task bar that looks like a spam message.  If anyone knows how to get rid of it, I'd love to know.

Thanks,

It is a new method of "advertising" that a few developers have used for their free applications. In my opinion it is an insidious advertising method and terribly conflicts with the concept of the notification area. Take a close look at any of the apps you've installed lately, remove them and complain to the developer who created the application.

Go to the following web site and OPT OUT!!

http://www.airpush.com/optout

I haven't tried it yet, but I will.

And there is a "ANTI" air push app to find the app that is generating the spam and you can get it from:

Try it.  I will.
