I plug the phone in at night to charge but the screen remains lit the entire time while it is charging.
Is this normal?
It seems like it would shorten the lifespan of the screen and the phone by being lit continually and generating heat from being lit.
???
Thanks,
Peter

You can, however, turn off the screen by pressing the unlock button at the top of the phone.

I have been charging the phone by first turning off the power, and then connecting the charger. Seems to work just fine.

This also happens if you select Performance Mode in Settings/Battery Manager/Battery Profile, try Smart Mode or Battery Saver Mode, but keep in mind that battery saver mode sometimes even turns device off while using navigation.
