Ok so here is my deal I got the droid x when first released and I liked the phone a heck of a lot except the ringer volume was to quiet even on max I missed important calls pretty frequently. I call Verizon and switch out the droid x for the incredible because I am within my 30 days, so now I have the incredible and after 4 days of having it people I talk to on it say they hear static when I talk. They can hear me but say the static in the background makes me sound garbled. I don't know what to do now I would rather have a phone I can't hear than this. Its terrible to try to conduct business when you sound like your on a walkie talkie.
Call Verizon.
They have a few things they can try. PRL update is one.
If not, try another Incredible
Hopefully by then Froyo will be out and you will see if update fixes problem.
My wife has told me the same thing. Called Verizon and did ota roaming update and she hasn't complained since. Don't really know why it worked but it did hope that helps. *228 option 2
