So I just put my Droid X (unplugged) on top of my iHome alarm clock / iPod dock. All of the sudden, the Droid says it connected to a multimedia station and the alarm clock options come up widescreen on the Droid as if it is connected to the Motorola dock that you can buy separately. Then, I take the Droid off my iHome, and then it goes back to normal? Mind you, my iHome is at least a couple of years old, so I'm not sure how it is connecting simply by touching the Droid (and my Droid is in a case as well).
I am very tech savvy, but I had no idea that the Droid X could do this? Thoughts?

Yep, its the magnetic sensor. Stick any magnet in the right place at the back of your droid and you will get the same results.
