When I got my X on 7/16 at a Verizon factory store they set it up for me and entered a gmail account on the phont because I could not remember my gmail password for my old gmail account. I entered that into the phone later and since have had 2 gmail accounts, my old one is the one most used. Can I just delete the new gmail address that was put on the phone by the Verizon store or is that permanently identified with the phone?

Ooops! When I try that it says I have to do a factory reset and will lose my contacts, etc.. Don't want to do that. I'll keep it and just let it remain inactive. I don't get email on that one anyway.

Yes, unfortunately, your Droid X buying power thru Market is tied to your new account. As you said, just ignore it and continue using your old account.
