Could i be doing some long term damage to the screen of my droid if i use it as an alarm clock?

The intention of the dock is to have the time and weather and alarm clock on there all the time...
I doubt they would have made this an option if it would hurt the screen. I keep it in the dock most of the time.

That is the way I often use my dock. At night, I pick it and the Droid up and set them on the night stand. I turn off the "Always keep screen on while charging" and set the time out on the screen to 30 seconds. If the phone rings, I see it and can pick it up. The backlight also comes on when the alarm rings. I just wish there was an easy way to tweak the display, because without my contacts, kinda hard to see the text messages.

I have a dock for by the computer mainly for charging, and another for my nightstand where I use it as a clock/radio... it has a "dimmer" button which makes it slighly less bright but I can always look at it for time and weather and such.
I don't have the screen turned off since it charges as it's on.
Since they have the dim button I assume it's meant to be used this way.
