My wife and I both have the Charge and her battery life is half what mine is, I was hoping that someone would be able to give me a clue as to what I can do to help her battery life. We have put on the 4g lte killer (we do not have 4g), and also put the screen to automatic (same as mine). I am thinking about taking it back because mine is so much better.

Low battery life can be very frustrating. What kind of applications have been downloaded? Did you already return the device?

It is my believe that Samsung has had a bad batch of batteries. Your wife's phone could have been part of this batch. I just recently purchased a Droid Charge and my battery life is terrible. It dies within 6 hours of being unplugged and fully charged with minimal use. Without using the phone at all I managed to get 8 hours out of it. That's without making a single call, text message or even opening a app. It was just locked the whole time. I've spoken with a Verizon rep about this and he said that is not normal. The Verizon warehouse at the time was out of Droid Charge standard and even Extended batteries. So I'll be sent a replacement as soon as they got some in unless I can find a store that has a few in stock first. If I were you i'd take the phone back to the Verizon store and ask them if the battery is defective. From what you are describing to me it sounds that way.

If you still have both phones, why not swap the batteries and see if the same thing happens with your phone that happend with your wife's? If not, then it's probably her phone (unless she has different apps or a different usage pattern than you). If it does, then it's the battery, and you can return it.

My Charge is EXACTLY the same as yours.... VZ told me that the battery is probably defective. I am waiting for them to send me an extended battery.

mine last for about 6hrs with call use and data use, texting does not kill it that bad. I thought the normal battery life is about 6hrs?

Based on the reviews, many users were getting 1-2 days of usage. I think it is due to the 4G/3G data connection issues we have been expericing, ie, it keeps searching and reconnecting, draining the battery. While doing nothing, my battery drains roughly 8% per hour, but turning off mobile data, the draining is less than 1% per hour (I still get voice during this time). I blame it on the data connection issues we have been expericieng.

Could be the unit itself. I had a unit (first charge ) that woudl deplete the battery when it said charging, it took 2 day to charg to 60%, then woudl die again. Verizon replaced the battery. Same issue.
Replacement unit no issue.

I am on my second Charge. First one got pretty lousy battery life, about half a day. I just looked at mine now and it is still at 59%. I took it off the charger 17 hours ago and have used it periodically throughout the day. Not heavy use, but some browsing, texts and calls. I am in a 3G only area.
