My mom has the Droid 2 n seemingly after having used the YouTube app the phone would not go into landscape view either way while the phone's closed.

Mine never did landscape on the home screen unless the keyboard was out. Others have said theirs did and has stopped.

I haven't read about any fixes.

U r right...it used to rotate but it stopped. I even did a hard reset and it didn't help. I uninstalled all market apps and tried a hard reset...nada. it used to work.

I've been customizing my home screen. I wonder if it has anything to do with how we layout our widgets. I've been tempted to factory default the phone to find out.

Most people say it never rotated on the home screen without the keyboard being out.

I know the Incredible doesn't neither does the X.

I installed Launcher Pro just to have the homescreen in landscape without the keyboard.

Launcher Pro is the way to go, but it never rotated on the home screen without sliding straight out of the box.

did you check your settings? go to settings>display settings>check the auto-rotate screen (the check should be green). you could also try a hard reset. it may take a few minutes to take once you do because just like a laptop when not used it takes a few seconds for it to wake back up :smileyvery-happy:

ive had an issue where i had to do a factory direct reset. my music worked for about a month then kept freezing on me. it wouldnt go back to the main screen or anything in the music player the screen just went black and my phone completely froze. however a hard reset worked for me. when you have an issue like this that can be resolved any other way this fixes it however i would use it as a last resort as a factory direct reset erases everything even backed up information on your sd card because everything is reset to the way when you first bought it out of the store. if you think this will work for you here is the quickest and easiest way i have found to do it:

turn droid 2 off

open keyboard and press x while holding the power button

device will power on

keep holding until a yellow triangle appears

press the magnifying glass on your keyboard

use the volume button to select wipe data/ factory reset

use camera key to confirm

tap wipe data/factory reset

then ok

highlight reboot system now

then ok
