Most importantly, get something like

ES File Explorer

Or another file system app that lets you explore phone and SD Card folders, create new folders, copy/paste, etc.

Other than that...

QuickDesk

Allows you to access shortcuts/widgets by double tapping the 'home' key and will overlay in just about every application.

Spare Parts

Allows access to a few features that would be nice if was included with phone

Trapster

Plus it's important to let people know about some features of apps already on phone:

"Maps" (Google Maps)

Basic stuff like directions and allows a sat map overlay and your position. Advanced stuff like layers that show current traffic conditions and latitude. Latitude is an app where you can add a layer to show where all your friends are if they also have latitude and are let to broadcast location.

"Voice" Google Voice

Read through the documentation to find out all the cool things it does.

That's it for now. Will tell you when I learn more.

sign up for a free account with AppBrain at appbrain.com. It'll sync with your device so you can manage apps on your phone online, keep track of what was downloaded/installed, and also offers an app that will download apps to your phone if you click 'download' from online. It's pretty cool.

Best free games I've tried so far:

Bonsai Blast

Jewels

Freecell by Softick

Wordup!

Frozen Bubble

Mixzing is the best media player I've seen so far, mostly because it actually orders songs in track order rather than alphabetical order.  Seriously, why do people who design media players think anyone wants their songs sorted that way?

Tricorder is a must-have for any card-carrying Star Trek nerd.  The cool thing is that it actually performs real functions.

For MDs out there:

ePocrates

Skyscape

Merck Medicus (not on the Android Market--need to go to the Merck website)
