I have a Droid X with the latest updates (non rooted) and recently noticed the LED flash on the camera is not working. I have tried downloading apps from the market that work as a flashlight by turning this light on but it still doesn't work. Any advice on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the LED has malfunctioned some how. I use Z-Devicetest which is free from the Marketplace to test all my phone's sensors and such. If you still get no success with that program it sounds like a trip to the store is in your future.

Which app are you trying to use because due to the lock bootloader the access required for the app to trigger the LED has to be specific, I use a app called Tiny Flashlight + LED at https://market.android.com/details?id=com.devuni.flashlight&feature=search_result
Also have you changed the settings to Flash On in the camera options verse Auto?

This sounds like it may be a hardware issue since you have already adjusted the settings. Are you still having this issue, or have you already been to the store?
