The Droid X comes with a specifically signed bootloader so that you can't root/hack/modify your phone. Motorola did this for 'saftey purposes.'

Mike, assuming that you haven't gotten one, will this prevent you from getting the Droid X?

The device is a nice device without doing anything to it, but keep in mind anything created by man can be beaten by man..... I didnt plan on rooting my device anyway but my thought is that there are to many skilled programmers that exist in the Android world and I am sure if they want it unlocked bad enough I am sure they can accomplish it..  Dont write them of so soon, the device just came out...

Hey Mike:  Just so you know, the Iphone 4 signal issue is an intended feature of the phone.  It's designed to help keep you from going over you minutes.......

Hey jokes on you, I don't have an iPhone 4 nor intend on purchasing one.

If you must know, I had to switch to the iPhone 3GS because AT&T's network had more coverage than Verizon's. I needed it for work, and I got a discount.

Thankfully enough I'll be getting a Droid as my friend will be getting the Droid X.

@GeriO I wouldn't buy any type of Android phone unless it had Stock UI on it.

To be quite honest I don't really care if you have a couple cans and string.  It affects my Droid X experience none at all.  Edit:  Maybe a touch to harsh.

Then your initial post was really for no reason.

Aside from the obligatory "wut did u post 4 then," I'll have to say that I got an overall value of 0 reading your post(s).

Edit: VERY harsh, thanks.

Normally I would agree with you. Research is an excellent thing. However, I cannot finish reading your post. Every time I see "u" instead of "you" my brain drops the previous line(s) and I have to start over again...
