Verizon representative,
When will the Incredible 2 get the promised Ice Cream Sandwich update? Many are pointing fingers at Verizon for stalling this update. I hope this is not true. Thank you!

No one knows on this peer to peer customer forum.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

(pure speculation) Most, if not all all ICS upgrades were held up because of the Windows 8/Windows 8 Phone(s). They (Microsoft/Verizon) want to "encourage" you buy something new. I believe they will make use wait until January '13. Not that I have any real information, just 30 years experience watching the tech industry.

It's ironic how Verizon expects you to keep a phone for two years and does not provide any updates to them. They probably make most of their revenue from people who give up and pay $600 for a new phone that has the upgrades that they want. Verizon says they care about their customers. The only thing they care about are customers that buy a new phone at full price every 6 months. I'm stuck with my Incredible 2 and Android 2.3 for six more months. << Comments removed to comply with >> This is the last two year contract I ever get into. Verizon only clearly cares about new customers, not their existing ones. I'll be buying an unlocked Nexus phone when my contract ends and going with AT&T pre-paid. The biggest most reliable network does not mean squat when you have crappy support.

I like that the moderator has time to edit posts for compliance with the forum rules but refuses to reply to our question. I'm in the same boat and I think it's slimy how they always do this. They pulled the same trick with the Droid Incredible (original) too.
>Moderator comment. I have posted many times prior the answer as to why we do not answer the the question asked. We are not techs, we are not Customer Service Reps. We do not pretend to me. We are here to keep the forum semi civil, keep threads on topic and address those posts that do not comply with the Terms of Service.
This site is not intended for direct Customer Service interaction. It is a peer to peer/customer to customer site. There are many other avenues to speak to a rep or a tech that are much more expedient than this forum.<

Now, posting on this forum expecting to get REAL info from Verizon Wireless, well, that's very optimistic!

According to a post on another article re: ICS upgrade, there will not be ONE! The issue is apparently with the partition, not GSM, CDMA. The poster said Verizon rep. "strongly suggested there will not be an upgrade to ICS for Incredible 2."

An HTC Rep on Facebook said they are still working with Verizon on the update as of yesterday. Other phones have had wifi connectivity issues. Gingerbread isn't that bad. I'll wait.
