I have an ipad and I cant get on the web when I'm away from home. I spoke with someone whom said that I can get mobile hotspot on my phone droid bionic and then I will be able to access the web away from home. Though they allege that it will be wireless on the verizon website it only shows the portable devices. So my questions are do I have to purchase the portable device? or is the wireless hotspot available?
You can add the hotspot feature to your Droid Bionic; the cost depends on the plan you're currently on. If you're on a Share Everything plan, the cost is included in the plan, but the data draws from your data package. If you're on a tiered plan, you need to change to a tiered/hotspot plan. If you're currently on a 2 GB tiered data plan, you could change to a tiered/hotspot plan that includes an additional 2 GB of hotspot data for an additional $20 (in other words, you'd have 4 GB data, 2 GB phone & 2 GB hotspot for $50 a month).
