My HTC goes bonkers when I have standard stereo headphones into it. Seems like I'm not alone:

Sounds like an issue with the TRRS (4-connector) headset connector getting confused by TRS (3 connector) headphones.
Comment if you are seeing this issue too.

Oh great, and here I thought I would be getting away from that issue when I upgrade to the Incredible. I have a Droid Eris, and it has the exact same problem. Actually, ear buds don't cause any problem, but cables that wire the device into stereos (be it home, or in the vehicle) quite often make my media player start going nuts, as if I was pressing random buttons constantly. Doesn't matter whether I use the HTC one, or a third party one. When that happens, I typically have to use a task killer or reboot the phone in order to kill the app, even after unplugging the jack. Also, it doesn't just affect the media player. I've actually seen having the audio jack plugged into it cause it to redial the last phone number I called, from my call log. Yeah, I was REALLY happy when I saw that happen.
