After recent software 'update,' all videos placed on my Charge play with a green screen. What's up?

Try clearing the data for the video player you are using or try another player and see if the issue carries over to the other player, if so you may want to consider a hard reset because some data could have got corrrupted during update process, that happens sometimes.

Ducati,
Reboot your phone THREE times in a row.
PLEASE tell me if that fixed it!

Nope. Thanks for trying. Spoke with Verizon and they have nothing reported on this issue, besides myself.

Ducati,
I checked and some of my videos give me a green screen and some play perfectly as they should. I checked how each was recorded.
All my videos that were recorded with the .WMV extent (Microsoft Windows format) give me a green screen BUT any videos that were recorded using the .MP4 format (extent) play perfectly.
What to do...not sure yet but maybe I'll have to convert them all to .MP4. Thank goodness for my ROXIO software.
The video player in my "stock" GB 2.3.6 played my .WMV videos perfectly so something may changed with Verizon's "new" video player after the FP1 update.

In that case I am surprised that you could even play those files at all because if you read at http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html ,Android does not support WMV video playback.
As for converting the files you can use any of the apps below..
- DVD Catalyst.4 is the best for me... http://www.tools4movies.com/ it has converted any files without any issues and its sales for 10.00
- Handbrake from http://handbrake.fr/downloads.php is a good free application but some report issues with some files..
- Xilisoft MP4 Converter from http://www.xilisoft.com/mp4-converter.html

Wildman,
You always come up with good info for me...thank you.
You're right, it must have been a fluke that the Windows .WMV videos played using GB 2.3.6. I assume that GB 2.3.6 with the FP1 update is MORE so Android than was the original GB 2.3.6 alone (no FP1).
At least they could have given me a lighter and softer shade of green.
It appears that the only Video formats we can use with GB 2.3.6 and the FP1 update are: .3gp (3GPP) and .MP4 ( MPEG-4).
Best regards,
JerryF

Glad you identified the nature of the issue, after converting the files you should be good.
Happy to help.

Thanks so much for all the assistance - since the .wmv format did play just fine only one 'update' ago, I can only assume you're sadly correct - a infantile pissing match 'tween the feuding giants.
I have Xillisoft - I will rip them into a different format.
Your time and expertise, both JerryF and Wildman, has been greatly appreciated.
Thanks again.

I had the green screen issue also. A simpler solution than converting all of your files is to download a video player from the market. I downloaded "MX Player" and selected software decoder. I can watch my wmv files now..
