Wildman and/or Anyone Else,

Have you ever see a MESSAGE like this one (see attached photo).

It is the first OZ Mail I have ever received.  I did reply, as it requested, so I hope that I do not receive any more.

I called the tele number (by dialing 11-801-222-2357) and it calls Verizon but it says that the tele number is out of service.OZ Mail.jpg

Just my 2 cents worth..Verizon handled this situation very poorly from a cust serv PR standpoint.

That's actually a totally different message, the one I received didn't have the option to reply stop to discontinue, also the ones that everyone seems to be posting about has a VZW at the beginning ot the number to indicate from Verizon Wireless.

From what I understand, the OZ Mail is a mobile alert system that you set up with your email address to send you a text message when a new email is received. It works with feature/basic phones and not smartphones.

If you are receiving them, it means that you had set up the alert system on a previous feature phone and didn't remove it before you upgraded to a smartphone.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I also had this problem, recieved 32 texts in a row and Verizon said to forward it to 7726, this is a spam report and they would stop. I did this and no it did not stop. I recieved a text back from Verizon saying they could not figure out who was spamming me and to call Verizon back so I did. They then said I was getting these texts everytime I recieved an email from my yahoo account and walked me through the steps online to change a setting (described in an above message) to turn this off and it workes. BUT.....now my yahoo email does not work AT ALL on my cell (I have a Samsung Stratosphere) and honestly I am getting sick of the BS dealing with yahoo email on the cell. I would like to just delete yahoo email period from this cell but cant figure it out, does anyone know how????

Someone in the Chicago area reported they stopped receiving the txt msgs for each email.  I haven't had any since this morning so perhaps they have taken care of the problem in the Ohio Mich area.

As I mentioned above Verizon is doing a very poor job of communicating this problem internally.  Their cust serv is not addressing the problem by telling people they don't know whats wrong and giving them alternatives that don't work or cause other problems.   Somebody at Verizon is trying to cover their behind.

I got these a few months ago and then again yesterday.  I think it is because the text messaging is to full and it can't new messages and sends the VZWMN.  I deleted about half of the history's from my text and especially the ones where I had sent photos and were still in my text history.  After I deleted about half my of my old texts I stopped getting the VZWMN or the 6250 messages.

Thanks Ann.  Actually on my previous non-smart (actually kind of dumb) phone I hardly ever sent a text msg or set up a mobile alert system but, I do appreciate your responding.  As the message directed I did respond so they may STOP with this one unless they were fibbing!

I got these unwanted texts every few minutes all night long starting on the 16th.  I called cust. service 3 times and finally got them blocked.  I was told it was a problem with Stratosphere phones.  The first time I called the rep said "well, I see that you have unlimited text messaging, so you won't be charged for any of these"   REALLY??  Anyway, I was glad when they finally got it stopped.  I have to say, customer service so far has been really good, but I've had a few significant problems with this particular phone, and I've only had it 4 months.  Have had to call them 6 times already.
