I've experienced an occasion screen freeze since I got this phone in January but recently it seems to happen more frequently especially when I'm using Yahoo IM. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Yahoo but that didn't solve the problem.

Do you get the screen freezing in other apps, or just Yahoo IM?
If you uninstall Yahoo IM and leave it off for a couple of days, do you still get screen freeze? The reason why I ask this, is that it could be that Yahoo is causing the freeze. If you uninstall it, and the problem goes away, then you found the cause.

I have a Droid X. The freezing happens after I receive and then reply to a Yahoo IM. If I turn the phone off and then back on again it's OK until the next time I try to instant message on Yahoo.
I've had the application on my phone since I got it but it wasn't until I actually used it that I had the problem. I did uninstall it and then put it back on but that didn't make any difference.

Sounds like you're gonna have to 86 the Yahoo IM app. Unfortunately with smartphones there are just certain apps that don't sit well with certain phones. It's trial and error to find which ones work and which don't, but I think it would be beneficial here to uninstall this app so your phone will function properly.

I would suggest contacting the developer of the application and leaving a review that you are having an issue with this app on the Droid X. That way the developer can further research the issue to see if other Droid X users are having this issue after using Yahoo IM and possibly create a new software version to fix it. In the meantime I would suggest accessing Yahoo Messenger thru the browser or searching for other IM apps that incorporate Yahoo.
