Thanks for the link...but I am a bit of a dummy when it comes to this stuff. I assumed I needed to download this on my Droid, but was having trouble. After navigating to the site and going thru the sign up process, when I clicked the link to download I got a message that said it could not open the window because I already had too many windows open (all the windows from the registration). I tried closing them , but ended up just having to reboot the phone. I was able to start the download then. When I went to install it, however I got a message that said my security was set to not allow applications to install that were not from the marketplace, I had to go in and reset the permissions, then download it again. It is now installed and working great Thank you so much!

yeah, that's normal. Since you're installing an app manually you have to set it to Allow Unknown Sources under Applications in the settings menu.

To my knowledge Adobe hasn't released the "final" version at this time (although they have announced that they are going to). The one linked above, I believe, is beta 3.

According to Verizon, Adobe Flash Player 10.1 is actually not going to be available in the Android Market until August 18, 2010. At that point, you'll be able to download and install the official Flash Player. Anything else that anyone is suggesting is not the verified Adobe Flash download for the Motorola Droid, and will be buggy and hard to install.

I wouldn't say the beta is buggy or hard to install. It works perfectly fine but is a battery hog and that likely won't change even with the "official" release. I still don't flash is very practical on a mobile phone for normal use. It's nice to have but better options are available to get the content.

It has worked fine for me since I installed it. Haven't had it installed long enough to notice a battery drain....but then again doesn't everything drain the battery on the Droid?

Maybe your definition of "buggy" and "hard to install" are different from mine. As far as installing, I have yet to see a description of installing Adobe Flash that was less than a two or three-step process. For example, downloading it from the above link, changing the settings to allow non-market apps, running a file manager app, etc. My understanding is that the official release will be a matter of selecting it in the Android Market, just like any other app - one step.
As for the "buggy" part, I have yet to see anyone who can run beta Flash consistently on the majority of websites. Even within the same website, some Flash applications will run while others don't. I'm guessing that's not going to be the case with the official release - that's why Adobe delayed the alpha release, even after 2.2 dropped. Because it's not working the way they want it to.
