Been a lurker here since the X came out, waiting for my new every 2 to come up. Finally its here and I'm on the bandwagon waiting for my DX. Ordered it from a Verizon store 9/13 they told me about two weeks. I guess its just a waiting game now.
The main issue of concern to me is the speaker volume, especially the ringer. . Thirty seven years in a factory put a hurting on my hearing. Seems like that thread sort of fizzled out. I'm trying to figure out if this was an issue with the early DX"s or all DX's. The rep at the Verizon store said she was a little concerned because the ringer volume was weak on hers and she has one of the early phones. I'm hoping like I've been reading that the 2.2 update will indeed resolve this issue.
Made the decision to go with the DX and wait instead of walking out the door immediately with a D2.. Hope it was the right decision.

um...i havent expeirence many issues with the volume on my droid X. the thing to keep in mind is that the media speaker is on the back of the display...so when laying flat it can be muffled...thats about it. i usually keep my phone on my desk at work, with the screen facing up and i can hear it just fine. Volume set to about half way...
and as far as the right decision or not, its objective. i like the big screen...looking at the D2 display seems so little...im enjoy the X...hope u do too.

As long as Verizon and Motorola stays with the same volume fix that is in place with the leaked version of 2.2 you should be OK, I have a co-worker that loaded the leaked version and there is a nice level increase in the volume in my opinion.

If you have it holstered on your hip, you might want to turn on vibrate. That way you might not hear the call, but you can feel it.

Thanks for your replies. The volume thing was my biggest issue. I've had other issues with other phones that I learned to live with. Hopefully the 2.2 update will boost the volume.
Thanks again
