I am running 01B and was wondering........
If I d/l the 74mb FRG22 update can I rename it to update.zip and then apply it to my phone? As it would be done to apply the 01B d/l...
Will this work and update me to FRG22 or am I mistaken. I am not wanting to root my phone....want to keep it stock..Thanks

It looks like the official release will be FRG01b so Verizon won't be supporting the newer FRG22. FRG22 is slightly faster but other than that, they're pretty much the same so you're probably better off sticking with 01b if you want to remain stock.

It was rumored that they were going to switch to the FRG22 as the official update but that doesn't look like the case since people are getting 01b now.

Hopefully they will send the patch to upgrade to FRG22.
I am having the home screen freeze issue that others are talking about....
and my battery was going quick but that seems to have fixed itself....maybe the facebbok update fixed it??
besides that 2.2 is great and I love it....

You may want to try ADW Launcher or Launcher Pro. The stock launcher is worthless.

There is now an update available that will allow non-rooted phones to run FRG22.
Non-rooted, my OS version.

Baseband Version: C_01.43.01P
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9-g874c292 android-build@apa26 #1

Just me being skeptical, but you got a pic or something as proof? Maybe a link would be nice too.
I've seen a bunch of pics with rooted phones running FRG22, and from what I've read in most forums, this build actually fixes a lot of the issues present in FRG01B.
It's kinda funny, but my phone's performance has been improving day by day. There are some bugs that show up from time to time (like Twitter... dunno if that's been fixed yet) but overall it's been great. I think the only reason one would want FRG22 is to be able to see Flash 10.1 in the market... I think.
