Yay FP5 will be rolling out within the week. This is just a minor bug fixer though ;(

Hopefully it improves the phones overall speed/performance and gets rid of some bloat and fixes the pop/static noise for good while on calls Smiley Happy

I seriously doubt it will remove any bloatware.

@ PJNC284, that link (as of this posting), is linked to their FP1 update (which I heard they reverted that page since it still contained FP1 update info, and nothing regarding FP5, so not your fault, just informing others that may wonder what's going when they click on the link and see FP1).

hmm...they must've changed it as it was definitely showing FP5 when I posted.  http://www.droid-life.com/2012/07/31/droid-charge-receiving-minor-update-to-fp5/ is what it should show.  Upon further inspection, the FP5 one seems to show the same changelog as the one for FP1 (http://www.phonedog.com/2012/03/20/samsung-droid-charge-fp1-update-coming-soon-packs-in-verizon-remo...so not sure what that's about.

agreed PJNC.

I'm guessing that they jumped the gun too soon perhaps on the posting and failed to adjust the change log?  Who knows.  I guess we will see if anyone gets that "update available"

The reason I was thinking that this new update may remove some bloatware is because if you look at what is supposed to be the changelog for the "FP5" firmware, it stats that "The Bitbop preloaded app has been removed from the device", which was not bulleted on the FP1 Changelog, so hopefully they also removed a few more junk preloaded apps, and also it now states on the FP5 changelog "Complete calls successfully with improved call clarity" where the FP1 changelog only stated "Complete calls without experiencing choppy audio, clicking noises and or one-way audio noises". So hopefully that means they actually fixed it this time with new radios, hopefully a new kernel too I would love it if they changed the brown/orange theme to something else too Smiley Happy Black/Blue would be great! It is obvious though that someone screwed up and jumped the gun and did not list everything that the FP5 update will include and they are reworking a new one to post, and hopefully it is a nice update, it's been 4-5 months now without anything, and there are still issues to be worked on.

understood - but I can't believe anything that was on that changelog, as they removed it.  so who knows what else is wrong.  regarding the theme, do you mean something like this:
