DroidX PC World Mixed Reviews-What Do You Think?

I didn't see these mixed reviews before, but it strikes me the same as the variety of posts here.  I guess it all depends on if you have had  many problems, a few problems or none.

I've had mine for a little  over two weeks, and so far I don't have much to complain about.  I am new to smartphones, but have learned how to use it pretty well so far.  But I'm curious of what the other X owners think.  Is it so far so good, some actual problems, or you want to give it back if you could.

Thanks!

The conclusion is that there will always a number of user that complain that a device has issues because it does not function as they want it to because they are comparing it to another device (Which makes no sense) and there also the ones that just like to point out little flaws and make them seem like a major issue, I have had my Droid X  from day one and other than the volume issue I have no complaints about the device.  If anyone goes in looking for flaws they will find them even if they do not exist or is so miner, if the device is working well for you dont allow others complaints change your mind.

After working IT and Project Developing I have learned that a item can be running exactly as designed and as requested by customers and they will still complain to attempt to either nagotiate free services or just want others to change their opinion of something because this give them a rush to start conflict, how many times have you had someone complain about something that no one complained about before and all the sudden everyone is noticing this same thing.

My over all thought on this subject is to use the device as you intend to use it and if you experiance no issues then that item is for you but not for the other indeviduals that is regularly complaining about it.

This is just a opnion and view  but as a new android user, I have not noticed the number of issues that others have reported having, and their issues seem to get worse when they return a new device because of a reported issue and recieve a referb unit... I have held on my original and is awaiting the 2.2 update only for the audio fix.  I am sure a new list of complaints will show up once the Froyo 2.2 update gets released.

I've had my Droid for about a week, or a bit longer. I have absolutely no issues with it. The camera and camcorder work beautifully and take terrific pics. Even the incoming call ringtone volume is loud enough for me. Of course, I put a piece of my own music as the ringtone instead of the ones pre-installed. The phone calls are loud and clear. The people I've talked to over the phone tell me that it sounds as though I'm in the same room with them. If I do have a complaint, it is that we can not get rid of the pre-installed apps and ringtones. I need some of these apps like a toothache and will never use them. Why can't we delete them? But this complaint is minor.

A lot of people complain because it's their nature and they love to complain just for the sake of complaining. Life is good to them only when they are miserable and can bellyache.

Hmm, what a mish-mash of conjecture and opinion. To me, this reads as though it was written by some basement-bound rooters that are on restriction by Mom because of curfew violations.

Keyboard problems? From the same people that complained about Swype not being available for Android earlier this year?

Sluggish software? The only point I can agree with here is that the unlock screen takes a second to unlock. Boo Hoo.

In the spirit of being fair, I wish I could get the battery life they did. As well as most everyone else, if my guess is correct. And not one mention of the low ringtone volume issues??? At this point, it's nearly impossible for me to believe that they spent more than 5 or 10 minutes with the phone.

They spend more time referring to other peoples' negative reviews that they do on their own review. Say what?? Short news day, guys? And I could think of 4 or 5 positive reviews that they could have cited, but nooo, that wouldn't fit the "trash the DX" mantra of this article.

The complaining about 2.1 is wasted ink. Did they complain about the Dinc coming with 2.1? I don't know, I'm asking. To me, all that translates into "it doesn't have Flash". To which I respond "it doesn't have Flash YET."

Their biggest point seems to be that the Droids on general are in danger of the iPhone comes to Verizon. If that happens, I don't doubt that the iphone will put a dent in the Android sales. But I think they under-estimate the number of people that could care less about the world of Steve Jobs and his "do it the Apple way, period" way of doing things.

There is a big different in "honest review" and "agenda". This "article" is dripping with the latter. We are all aware of the various opinions and issues with the Dx bandied about here ad nauseum infinitum. Which is way more honest and valuable than this "article".

Respectfully, for some reason I can't think of at the moment,

There have been a few problems, and everyone has been overwhelmed with delivery problems.  I am seeing a lot of "how do I do this" posts, so a lot of people don't realize that there are Help Videos right from the help menu on the DX Home Screen.  I am very happy with mine so far, and found it easy to use for my purposes.

I just read the review and wasn't impressed with what they had to say at all. I have been a Blackberry user for about 3 years and while Blackberry is still very highly rated for business this is great phone, They never mentioned the market and the apps and I think they were wrong on the typing. I like typing on this.

I still have a Storm2 just for work and got this for my personal smartphone and like it a lot. I had a couple of small issues nothing major. As far as a consumer phone goes this is a great device and Froyo should make it even better. I would for sure rate it higher than C.

As far as Apple moving to Verizon I am not holding my breath for a few reasons and I think there are many people that would rather have anything but Apple with me being one of them.
