Here's my problem - my wireless number is private, so in my contacts, I have *82 before the numbers, so my friends know it's me calling. Text msg won't deliver with the *82, so in my old phone, I had the number in a second time without *82, and I could send the text to that number.
Now I bought a Droid, and it tries to send to the *82 number. I try to edit the number before sending, then look at the status of the message, and it still went to the *82 number, and never got delivered. I've edited the contact, to remove the *82 completely, but when I try to text, it stills shows as sent with the *82 prefix.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is getting so frustrating I'm about to return the phone tomorrow.
Delete any threads you have in your phone. Put the numbers in the correct way in contacts. With the phone on, remove battery for at least 3 seconds. Install battery, turn on phone.
