Droid e-mail and Hotmail

My wife just got a new Droid and has been a Hotmail user. When we set her phone up her e-mail if very slow coming in, opening up attachments and sending something with an attachment. When she gets an e-mail the notification goes off and keeps going off about every 5 minutes until she opens the e-mail. I use Gmail and do not have that problem. Any fix for this? She is about to give the phone back.

Have her download K-9 Mail and use that instead.  Problem solved.

How do you remove the Hotmail account? The K-9 seems to be working but the e-mails are coming in on both accounts.

From the email app where it lists the accounts, do a long press on the hotmail account and it will give you some options.
