Droid X won't load, says "Bootloader"
DroidIX
Newbie
Alright, so today I was downloading some apps (WinAMP and Firefox) to my Droid X and it was on low battery, so I plugged it into the computer. All of a sudden, the phone reset and went into an all black screen, so i pulled the battery and now it comes up: BOOATLOADER 30.04 Low Battery Can't Charge or something similar. Now, everything i have looked up said i "bricked" the phone and mentioned things about rooting the phone. I have no idea how to root the phone and i was not trying too. Now my phone won't work, is there a way to fix it?

It is possible to get your battery too low for the phone itself to charge it back up.  Generally though you can get it charging by pulling the battery and reinstalling it a couple of times while the charging cable is connected.

Try powering the device down and charge the device from a wall plug because the device will not charge from a usb when the devices battery is to low.

Allow device to charge for a few hours before trying to power the device.

What Wildman said is true. When the battery goes to 15% or lower, a computer charge is useless. Use a wall plug and give it at least, at a minimum, four hours before you try to do anything with it.

Wildman is dead on.  You are getting that error because a USB connection has to have enough of a charge to be able to complete the USB handshake with the computer in order to charge.

You are not bricked, just give it a few hours charge with the wall charger and you should be back in business.

Actually under this situation if the device is powered off and the user has exit bootloader mode the device should charge because the user hasn't installed a rom or anything to damage bootloader.... Bootloader mode has a safty programming that kicks in on device when the device power is to low.

I believe they should be ok after a good charge.

But if you have a spare battery that should work also...

Did charging the battery with a wall charger fix your issue?
