I have an issue with my Droid X working with my 2010 CR-V I just bought yesterday to play music from my phone. I have the CR-V EL-X without NAVI but it does have XM radio with USB attachment. I plug in my Droid X and it does nothing and won't read it but it will play music from a thumb drive. Please help!

Try turning USB debugging on or off under settings; applications; development to bypasses the driver partition.

If the USB debugging does not work you may need to check with the manufacturers of the radio to see if it is compatible with your phone.

I havent found any devices that seem to have the supported hardware drivers to read data from a cellphone used as a storage device, I think since this is such a new feature that only a small amount of devices is supported by this function. The controller in a phone isnt configured the same as a standard flash drive so unless the software supports the hardware driver to control this device it most likely wont function until the feature is added.

I think your right Wildman, I know most radios with USB can access a Win Mo phone's sim card, I believe the Android sim card requires specific drivers. And being that Android devices are still cutting edge and just now getting into full swing, I imagine it will be some time before all radio manufacturers catch up with it.

Trust me its not your car. I have a 2009 Civic Si that also has the USB port.
BEFORE the droid 2.2 update everything worked great. All you had to do was plug your phone in and set it to USB mass storage.
Now that I've updated to 2.2 I have not found a way to get the car to see my droid x, it just flashes "UNSUPPORTED". I've tried setting it to every USB option available and have tried running it in USB debug mode still nothing.
Hopefully this will be fixed soon

After quick search, It appears users on Motorola forum verified that it did work for some before 2.2, but in my case Kenwood seems to not be compatible at all, even with 2.1,,,,, https://supportforums.motorola.com/message/254428, hope something get figured out to resolve this.. well this gives use a possiblity of getting this to work.
