The best way to resolve this is to delete the account then re-add it. The incoming server settings should be: mail.bellsouth.net; Alternate settings pop.att.yahoo.com port 995; Alternate settings:imap.n.mail.yahoo.com port 143. The outgoing server settings should be: mail.bellsouth.net; Alternate settings smtp.att.yahoo.com port 465; Alternate settings smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com port 587. Once you have verified these settings it should work properly. Hope this helps.

I have had this same problem with Bellsouth and have been banging my head against the wall for almost 6 weeks now. Besides losing all my photos from Hawaii by mysteriously vanishing off my SD card, I have not been able to send one emai from my bellsouth account. Very frustrating as I was a Blackberry user and never...ever had any problems. I was close to switching back to my storm.

NONE OF THESE SETTINGFS WORK! I was told by Verizon my phone would be able handle my bellsouth emails when I got the phone. Now I cant return it....cant get emails. Bellsouth says its not them...and I agree. My Storm worked fine.

I can not use a gmail server for outgoing mail. If anyone replys to my email then it goes to gmail and I'll have work emails scattered everywhere. I need simply Bellsouth to work for incoming and outgoing.

Can anyone please tell me what Bellsouth settings will work. No one in a Verizon store has any techincal ability. They are only good at pushing phone out the door....once sold...they dont seem to care anymore.

VERY DISAPPOINTED........

Unless your employer has some rule specifically prohibiting you from sending company e-mails through a Gmail server, why can't you use Gmail to send and recieve ALL your e-mails?!!

I have a Gmail account that I get almost no mail sent to. I also have Time Warner Hi-Speed Internet service and I have 5 seperate e-mail accounts through Time Warner. I went to www.gmail.com/ on my PC and went into the settings menu and set it up so that a copy of ANY mail message sent to ANY of my 5 Time Warner e-mail addresses also gets sent to my Gmail inbox, right alongside any Gmail messages I might happen to receive. That way, ALL e-mails that are sent to ANY e-mail address I have are delivered both to my Gmail inbox in my web browser on my PC and to my e-mail inbox on my Droid X! I even have Gmail set-up so that any replies I send or new messages I compose are sent from my primary Time Warner e-mail account, and not from my Gmail account (in other words, it appears that my mail messages are sent from dmw_xxxx@roadrunner.com, and NOT from dmwxxxx@gmail.com).

In order for this to work, you'll have to configure your primary e-mail program (I use MS Outlook 2007 on my laptop) to leave a copy of the mail messages on the mail server after downloading them to your e-mail program, otherwise there won't be any messages for Gmail to retrieve (I have Outlook set to delete messages off the server after 1 day).

My Droid X (well, actually Google & Android) handles e-mails better than ANY smartphone I've owned so far!

Check out this post, and then check out the settings that you have with the chart on this post.

My current Droid X is working fine with incoming and outgoing servers set to mail.bellsouth.net. Port 110 for incoming, Port 25 for outgoing.

If that doesn't work, and I had problems in the past, look up the settings on ATT.net. Since Bellsouth got gobbled up there has been anumber of server addresses. I know I was able to work with my Storm using the ATT servers.

Do you have your droid connected to wifi when you are trying to send email?? try to disconnect from wifi and send email through the 3G network... let me know if that works!

Another thing you might try is entering your full e-mail address in the settings menu when it asks for your Bell South user name. I had an issue with my HTC Imagio running Windows Mobile 6.5 when trying to send e-mails; it would receive them just fine, but every time I tried to send a message I would get an error and the message would not be sent. I ended-up solving this issue by entering my full e-mail address in the box where it was asking me for my Time Warner user name; in other words, instead of entering dmw_xxxx in the user name box, I had to enter dmw_xxxx@roadrunner.com. Once I did that, I had no trouble sending e-mails!

Disregard my previous post - I don't see anywhere in the Android operating system to change any setting like I described.
