Droid X Calendar Saves appointments and then later I check and it's gone

I have been adding appointments to my calendar on my Droid X.  I see it in the calendar as yellow then it turns blue.  Eventually the listing or appointment is completely gone!

 

What is going on?  This didn't happen to me before.
