Ive had my Droid X for just over a month and I notice it will shut itself off and restart whenever it feels like. This can happen when its just sitting on the table, during a call and/or texting....the thing is possessed.....
Any suggestions why this happens and how to make it stop?
Thanks
Tonya

Try removing all installed application and see if issues stop because incompatible software is usually the nature of rebooting.
Here is a nice rule of thumb to consider, when you are having issues with a device and are using a number of applications installed, save yourself confusion and try removing all 3rd party apps or if all else fails you can consider hard resetting the device. A number of users blame the device before they isolate other possibilities, if you had a device show a issue and the unit is replaced and the new device has the same issue this should be clear that the device most likely not causing the issue.

I have had the same issue its a well known problem I have had 3 replacement all did the same
I have had 2 Droid X's. The original I got on Launch day, and a replacement I got about 6 weeks later. And neither had this problem. My first X was replaced for a totally different reason, a pencil eraser sized spot on the screen that was there right at the beginning.
FWIW, I install very few apps. I only have about 6 so far. Also, I never install 2 at a time. I wait a few days between installs. That way if a problem shows up, I have a good idea which app may be the problem.
Good luck whatever you decide to do,
