I have a question about protective cases that the Verizon stores sells. Which would survival a short fall, the standards plastic snap on covers, graphite covers or silicone? I keep getting different opinions from different Verizon locations / sales reps. It is obviously anyone one of these will protect against scratch but what about short distant impacts like the phone falling out of one's hand or pocket?

#1 It does not fit into the docking station
#2 It adds extra bulk to a allready bulky phone
#3 The leather feels cheap
Here is my assesment:
#1 It is a rare mixture of both cushioned and solid construction
#2 The docking station is a huge waste of money so i don't care if it doesn't fit
#3 When the phone drops the case will actually stay together and protect your phone
#4 Not super grippy, but its acceptable
#5 The kickstand is awesome
Silicone cases will allow you still use the docking station, provide great grip, but no fall protection.
Hard plastic cases are like the leather kickstand case, but provide less coushioning and no kickstand.
Bottom line, if you like the docking station get the silicone case. If you want superior protection and don't mind spending a few dollars, get the leather kickstand case.

Thanks!
I would recommend getting a silicone case or leather case. Don't get the snap plastic cases or any type of plastic case. Those tend to break more easily.

I have the Nite-Ize rugged velcro case. It's bulky but very sturdy and the device won't get hurt if you drop it.
I also have the snap-on case/holster combo. It's slimmer but doesn't offer the same protection, it also has no room for storage like the Nite-Ize case does.

I think PDair and casemate's cases are both good.
One of my friends has experience buying from both of them.
PDair's leather case is quite good, and casemate's design is cool.

If you were asking for the droid x case rather than the droid 2, then that case is already available.
