Droid 2 3G Mobile Hotspot Certificate error

Using my laptop I connect to 3g mobile hotspot just fine and standard websites work fine. However, whenever I try to connect to a https web site I get a "certificate" error saying the site's security security is not correct. What's up with this?

You will want to delete the cookies and caches on your device.
- From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
- Touch Browser.
- Touch Menu.
- Touch More.
- Touch Settings.
- From the Privacy settings section, touch Clear cache
Visited website content stored on the device. The cache enables the browser to download only the content that has changed since the last time a website was visited. Since the browser only downloads changed content, pages are loaded faster.
- Touch OK.
- From the Privacy settings section, touch Clear history.
A listing of URLs (website addresses) that have been recently visited.
- Touch OK.
Some cookies contain customized preference and logon information for previously visited websites. Once deleted, the website may prompt for this information again.
- From the Privacy settings section, touch Clear all cookie data
- Touch OK.
