Downloading Pictures via Emails-Folder Problem Incredible

Ok so I own the HTC Incredible.  I was on my desktop computer and decided to send a picture from my MSN account to my Google account (Cell Phone); it went thru.  I found an option called 'download'; so I clicked download which of course saved to my sd media card.

I deleted the photo; and it deleted the album (was only 1 pic)

I sent a new photo to my cell phone; yet when I do, the icon (folder) is the same pic as the very very first download, but thankfully the picture was not.

Nothing I have done can erase the first image.

Yes if you really must know lol I sent a girl with in a bikini to my cell phone; I downloaded it to my cell phone so of course when I went to the photos program I saw the "downloads" folder with a snapshot of the bikini.  Yet I erased the photo off my SD card; so I then sent a different photo to my cell phone, yet when downloaded it showed the girl with the bikini even though the picture I downloaded was a female with her son at a game.

I hooked up my cell phone to my computer, its on my SD media card thankfully the folder shows the recent picture and not the bikini girl; but again I cannot figure out a way to get rid of the bikini icon.

I tried using History Eraser to see if that had any factor; no it does not.

Has anyone else had a problem like this? Can it be resolved?  Thanks

PS I have deleted the photo/album on the phone and now I've deleted the photo/album off the media card hooking it up to my PC.  Just now tried pulling the battery while the unit was on and after I deleted the album/pic then re downloaded the pic and still the icon of the bikini is still there ROFL

Well I talked to Verizon last night.  Where to begin; where to begin LOL  It was a 90 minute Tech Support call.

Ok; you know when you open up the "Photos" application there are albums at the top *Camera Shots*, *All Pictures*, and apparently *All Downloads*???

Heres the thing:

If I view an image on the internet and choose to save it; it will put it in a folder at the top of the screen before it separates to SD Card

In GMAIL; If I view an image and download it; it will save it to a folder at the top before it separates to SD Card

In my Mail program (MSN-Hotmail) if I view an image and hold down my finger it pops up with "open/save to SD card or save to phone storage"; so if I choose "save to SD card"; it WILL NOT put it in a folder at the top; it actually creates a folder at the bottom under SD card.

In my Mail program (MSN-Hotmail) if I view an image and hold down my finger and choose "save to phone storage" it will create a folder up top; before SD card.

So I thought perhaps all my images are being saved to my phone storage and not my SD card........NOPE not the case; this is where it gets really interesting.  If I save an image from the net or even thru GMail; even though its up top before SD card; when I hook up my cell phone to my computer it still under the SD card area not phone storage.

OK now lets talk about that image.

One thing I noticed is that if I send an email from my MSN to my GMail there lies the problem.

If I send an email from my GMail to my MSN (Mail); I can choose where to save it and I wont have a problem.

But that wasnt enough, the tech asked me to switch SD cards and see if that has a factor; the answer: nope

I did a complete restore on my phone; what I did this time was send an email from my MSN to my GMail with a picture of a "Happy Face Logo"; so if I delete the picture and download a different image it will be the folder image of the Happy Face.

So now I can send pictures thru email from my MSN to my GMail without the fear of the folder image/icon of a Bikini and now it will be a Happy Face.

So to sum up; I will put the resolution in italics:

***There is a problem when saving images from a GMail acct to your cell phone, even though you select SD Card; the very first image you EVER download will be forever the image of the folder icon

***The best choice is to send mail from GMail to another acct where you can choose to save to SD or Phone; if you choose SD card, your downloaded pic will be down below; not up top; and either way, I believe the image will be different if you delete the folder and will be the one you are downloading at that moment.

Try clearing your cache.  The steps are below.

From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located in the lower-left).
Touch Internet.

Touch Menu.

Touch More.

Touch Settings. (check to see if there is a tab titled images)

Touch Clear cache.
Touch OK.

Touch Clear history.

Touch OK.

Touch Clear all cookie data

Touch OK

If that does not work, go through the same steps, but this time instead selecting clear cache, select clear form data.

Hope this helps!

NOPE.  Didnt work.

Deleted the downloaded image

Cleared Cookies

Cleared Cache

Cleared History

Cleared Form Data

Cleared Passwords

Cleared Location Access

Chose Reset Internet to defaults

Powered Off Device

Turned on

Send myself a new email, just now, with a new picture

Opened Email/Downloaded Picture and still has the original same icon as the very first image downloaded.  I am going to try one more thing; give me 1 second please.

HA; wow that didnt even work.

I copied the contents from my SD card to my computer. I then unmounted my SD card on my cell phone; I then "formatted my SD Card" to where I had nothing on it..

I then powered off phone

Turned it on, went into Internet settings; erased everything one more time

Turned off phone then back on.

I downloaded picture and still does the same thing.  The folder icon is still the original image I downloaded days ago; and now it also changed my "all photos" icon to that girl in the bikini LOL.

My first post had over 80 views;  is there not one person whos experiencing this?  Why am I the only one?  A call to Verizon then to HTC might be in order.

Since none of the trouble shooting steps have worked, I would recommend you contact our Technical Support Department for further trouble shooting.   Let me know the outcome :smileywink:
