There are some apps in the Market which can help you. Just open up the market and do a search for "Ringtones." and look for the one that you believe can help you the most.

I downloaded Ringdroid which works well for creating ringtones from MP3s via your laptop, etc.

In addition to the information jasnmar provided, I have provided some additional information to assist you.
- From the Music player application library, navigate to a song you want to use as a phone ringtone
- Touch & hold the song in the list to open the context menu. (You can also access same menu during song playback by pressing the Menu key)
- Select Use as phone ringtone. The ringtone is set as your default incoming call ringtone and copied to your phone ringtone list.

i use phonezoo.com the website is completely free and has pictures you can send to your phone and you can even take your music on your laptop and choose what parts of the song you want to be the ringtone (basically make the song into your own personalized ringtone) and send it to your phone. depending on your plan and other factors verizon may charge you but the site is completely free.
