Never used that router but after a quick search I found the setup and troubleshoot manuals that may help....

the phone should pickup your wireless whether encrypted or not.

all i do to use my home setup is enter the encryption code.

"droid x" in your subject line is a little vague, maybe droid x wi-fi issues lets folks know what you're question is about.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I think my problem is not my configuration but a problem with the DROID X itself.  I have read that they have wifi connectivity problems.

Thanks, I think the problem is with the Droid.

I have not had any problems connecting my DROID X to any of multiple WiFi routers.

When you say "it tries to connect", what exactly is happening. Does it see your network? Does it give you a screen where you are supposed to type in a password? Are you inputting the correct password?

The first time I come up to a NEW WiFi network, it asks me if I want to connect, I type in the password, and I am connected. No need to type in the password next time I connect. Connects automatically everytime after that.

I got to the screen to input my password; input correctly Under wi-fi  settings and on my network it initiallysays 'obtaining IP address from my network (by name)" .  Then wi-fi say "scanning' and under my network says "remembered, secured with WEP"  For a few seconds wifi and network will both read "connected".  Then "disconnected" and goes thru entire cycle of scanning, obtaining IP...

Sounds to me like some of the problems I have read with some  DROID X just not connecting to wi-fi.

Thanks for trying to help

My phone used to cycle like that after connecting to a WEP secured network. It would connect initally and I could surf for a while. Then if the phone went to sleep and so would the wifi connection. When I woke up the phone, it would go in the cycle of connecting, disconnecting, rinse and repeat. The only way I could get the phone to connect and stay would be when a reboot or battery pull. It was even affecting my other wifi that was WPA secured.

In the end I gave up trying to connect to the WEP network. I don't have access to the settings in that router/modem to make any changes. The other WPA network is happier for it.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

My network security is also WPA. Have never tried to connect to a WEP network.
