DROID X - Reboots consistent with Music

I have a Motorola X running Android version 2.3.3.  Even before the recent update to 2.3.3, I've noticed my phone rebooting unexpectedly and usually while I'm listening to music.  What is even more consistent is docking the phone to my cardock.

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed the same behavior and possibly has found the root cause.

I'm almost considering resetting the phone to factory defaults, but I'm hesitant too for fear of losing anything important on the phone so I'd like to make sure I have a thorough backup of the data on the phone before resetting it to factory defaults.

Did you check all files and make sure none of your music files are corrupted?

I have the same issue... This happens when I'm using the stock music player. it did it before the upgrade and still does it now. I cleared the cache and even did the factory reset. I even downloaded a different music player in the market. Thats a little bit better, it didn't happen as much. It sucks but I love the phone so I live with it.

Why is no one responding? VERIZON, YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE TALKING!!!!  This is not what I pay for.  My contract is up next month and I'm gone.  Ive read about tons of complaints regarding this issue yet Verizon is sweeping it under a rug.  Shame on you big red.

I've experienced the same problem while using Xm radio app, Napster app, and the stock music player. Meanwhile these apps work flawlessly on my iPad 2! That's why I'm going to switch to the iPhone 4S. I'm tired of dealing with this buggy brick of a phone which seems to get worse with every OS update.

Does it restart on the same song every time? If so, the file is corrupt.

I get a restart once in a while putting my phone in the car dock. It happens mostly if I put the phone in the dock, then take it out right away (I have a car dock replacement app which doesn't like the dock if I forget to turn on the GPS)

But again, it is intermittant at best.

Thanks s11Mike, and to the community for your responses! I thoroughly enjoy listening to music on my device as well, and would feel the same way as you guys do.

I have checked my references and I want to assure you that we are aware of this issue and it has been raised to Motorola & our Product Support team to look into the issue further.  We will let you all know when a fix for this issue becomes available.

Thanks so much!
