I am very happy with my Droid X but from what I have read all the devices are nice units, it depends on what works for you... I suggest the Droid X but this is simply my opinion.

It's very subjective. I've had Samsungs which I was extremely happy with. I have a Droid X now which is my best phone to date. I even had a Blackberry which I liked. My suggestion...if you have a Verizon Store, I suggest going there and trying them. I'ts a hard decision. BTW, there is also the HTC Droid Incredible.

Tough call, indeed.

I went with the X (probably not a big secret by now...:smileyvery-happy:) and I love it. No turning back. In fact, I'll keep this thing even when this so-called 4G hits town. Until there is an identical 4G Droid X (and I'm not gonna hedge any bets on that happening), I'm staying with the X.

But any of the phones you mentioned plus the HTC Droid Incredible, as Mort mentioned deserve consideration. Definitely spend time with all of them in the store. If you get one and don't like it, you can return it within 30 days for an exchange to something else. I don't know if you can do this more than once, though...?

I am leaning towards the X becasue of the camera, although it does seem a little big for me.  I have the DROID right now, and find it clumsy, which is why I was thinking the DROID 2 would be just as heavy and akward.

The HTC is nice...but I am a heavy user with my phone, and am afaid of battery life.  My current Droid barely lasts a day and a half right now.

These days, it should be a habit to put a phone on the charger every night when one goes to bed.

Regardless.

Sorry to highjack the thread, but how long ago did you swap over Mart? I've had my Fascinate for 2 weeks now, and I'm having all sorts of issues with it not sending my emails to me, which is a problem since I have a work email accoutn tied into my phone, and now I'm also finding out about it resending texts on its own as well. I'm thinking I might go swap it this weekend for the Droid X, and that's why I came over to this section today, to see if what all issues everyone might be having with their Droid X, so that I might know what to expect, or if it is even worth it to swap to it.

Thanks,
David

I have the Droid X, which I am very happy with. However, because of a deal Verizon sent me, I now also have the HTC Droid Incredible. There was a learning curve (Ha! There still is), but I'm beginning to enjoy the Incredible. Hate to say this, but I think that it takes better pictures than the DX. Plus you have more than seven screens. HTC calls them "scenes" and each scene has seven screens. They start you with Work (7), Play (7), Travel (7), plus two more (14). So, right there you have 35 screens. Don't get me wrong, I still love my Droid X too.

I switched yesterday, too much funk on the e-mail, echo in the earpiece, answered by itself, on and on. So far the X has solved all this for me. It took a couple hours to get the switch at Costco ( great deal there, $149 included accesories) , but my e-mail is

100% better, That was the main reason I switched, and I am glad I did so far.

The Fascinate felt flimsy by comparison as well. it has to last me 2 years, the X felt tougher. The amoloid screen on the Samsung was cool, but I need a very reliable phone as I;m a Realtor, can't deal with missed e-mails or any other of the problems I had on the Samsung. As soon as I switched, my e-mails on MSN appeared regularly, and you get a green led to notify you.

I have not used the camera at all yet, but the X has a dedicated button for it, which I like, and the camcorder is seperate, I also like. I like having a good pocket camera, I enlarged a few from the F, forget it- good small , but off the camera, pixelated beyond use.

Switch. Let them fix the d phone.
