Does anyone have a clue as to why my contacts pics do not update with their respective FB accts? IT's not working thru texts OR my phone contacts. I have tried updating my phone but that doesn't do anything. Also I have made sure numerous times that is is suppose to update thru FB and it's there.. it just doesnt do it..
have you tried a soft reset? (turning the phone off and on) some 3rd party applications can cause problems like this as well. you could try clearing your cache to stop those applications when your not using them and it may prevent them from interfering but the best way would be to delete them. as far as clearing cache its a component that improves performance by transparently storing data. i have a history eraser to delete everything at once for me thus clearing up room and keeping phone from clogging up and lagging, etc. its a free app and easy to use. to download it on your phone go to market>apps>search>history eraser>HistoryEraser DUMAPIC (should be the first one listed)>tap on it>download>now once its downloaded open it and tap bomb>depending on how much you use the web browser,call people,search market histories,use navigation and maps,etc. is how often you need to clear your data. i do so about every two hours.
you could also try a hard reset.
when you have an issue that cant be resolved any other way this fixes it however i would use it as a last resort as a factory direct reset erases everything even backed up information on your sd card because everything is reset to the way when you first bought it out of the store. if you think this will work for you here is the quickest and easiest way i have found to do it:
turn droid 2 off
open keyboard and press x while holding the power button
device will power on
keep holding until a yellow triangle appears
press the magnifying glass on your keyboard
use the volume button to select wipe data/ factory reset
use camera key to confirm
tap wipe data/factory reset
then ok
highlight reboot system now
then ok

I have provided a few steps below that may help.
Step 1 – Try resetting the Facebook application (clear data)

Step 2 – Remove the Facebook account
-Press Menu
-Select Settings
-Select Accounts
-Long press Facebook and remove.
Step 3 – Add the Facebook account back.
even when you remove the facebook account and add it back on, its not going to update the contact pictures unless you do it again and again and again. like, im not removing and adding the facebook account everyday just to get the updated pictures! its stupid, you have to relink all your contacts again and delete duplicates and consolidate, and if your like me and have like 600+ facebook friends and 200+ phone contacts its gets to be ver very very annoying, i really dont want to master reset my device, is there really no other alternative? why is the droid 2 sucking so bad at syching lol, first it was my email not sending now this ish! dont get me wrong i love the phone sweetest **bleep** phone iver ever had but why wont it work right?
ive had my droid 2 (not the global) since September and havent had to many issues with it other then third party apps messingwith my phone settings such as not alerting me to new emails but its to be expected from some of these apps. you can alwaysmanually check your emails. there were some other minor problems not related to these third party apps (i dont believe i had anyapps on my phone when this happened) my music player stopped working in the middle of some songs and then the screenwent black and i couldnt do anything on my phone. hard reset fixed this for me for the most part. Occasionally i still have afreezing issue but sometimes if i wait for a few minutes the song will work again or if i do a soft reset that works sometimes to. these problems could be due to the song download quality themselves. anyway my point is even with the problems ive beenhaving there was always a solution. i wish you the best of luck in the future with your phone. they are really something once youget the hang of them and some computer experience and a good phone.
