So I bought a phone from a private party. He had the phone rooted, whatever that means. So I now go to upload all of my contacts through backup assistant yet I am unable to find the app. Any ideas where I can download it or find it so I can put it back on my phone? Thanks

It should be in the Play Store.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Hi there Mseldredge!
Having your contacts is really important. Although I can't assist with the phone alteration, I do have a couple of recommendations.
You can transfer your backup assistant applications to your gmail instead. Follow these steps please:

The second option is to Hard Reset your phone, but that may or may not remove the alteration. You can find those steps here:

Please keep us posted!
Thanks,
