Can we expect another update for all the 2.2 issues?

After two days on Froyo, I have decided to turn off my Incredible ...I am going back to my BlackBerry. After experiencing the downfall of the Incredible due to Froyo, my BlackBerry Tour is looking better by the minute. I don't want to receive a 'certified/like new' device because it will not work (they never do) ...I am convinced 2.2 is just overall a very poor software and I do not expect Google to release a fix since most people are not reporting the issues and just ignoring them since they are impressed with the pretty new colors, graphics and slightly faster browser.

Fortunately someone will be gullible enough to buy it from me ..but I feel more comfortable letting it go if I know there is a fix in the future. May be too soon to call, but does anyone think Google will fix 2.2 or just wait for HTC to release a phone more compatible with 2.2, like Motorola did by releasing Droid 2?

Thanks!

12 hrs after the update and I hate it. Web browsing speed is slowed considerably using 3g. Iheart Radio skips, making listening via 3g at work unbearable. On WiFi at home, no problems. Any way to go back to 2.1?

You say there are problems with 2.2 and think maybe it's just  "poor" software, but you don't elaborate. What kind of problems are you experiencing? Are all problems only after the update? Or were some present before updating? Please specify the problems. Otherwise, you just sound like a complainer.

Have you tried a hard reset?  Most people are finding a hard reset solves most of their issues.

When I get my update, I will be doing a hard reset.

As far as like new, a friend at Verizon (who is a manager there) says refurbs work BETTER because they go through MORE testing for each unit than a new device.  My refurb is much better than my original.

Just my opinion.

I have tried multiple hard resets, wipe cleans, uninstall of apps, updating roaming, you name it ...

here are the issues I posted on Android Central, and all these were not issues before installing 2.2 OTA

1) Battery takes about 8-10 hours to fully charge
2) Battery life went from an average of 6-8 hours use before meter turned orange to 2-4 hours after installing 2.2
3) Force close errors each time a new MMS is recd
4) Lags when scrolling thru App Drawer
5) Lags when scrolling thru contacts
6) No longer receive FB updates from other post outside of my own
7) Not receiving AOL messages as frequent
😎 Keyboard is very sensitive (types when the cord from my headphones touches the keyboard)
9) Switches from portrait to landscape without moving the phone at all times
10) Games I played often on 2.1 now hiccup/skip during game play
11) Moving apps to the memory card causes your widgets to no longer work
12) YouTube widget now shows popular/recommended videos which I imagine kills the battery
13) I am not seeing a difference in the internet speed on 3G or WiFi
14) Although I kill the internet thru ATK, when opening the browser again it remains at the last page I visited
15) Several sites do not play videos although the latest Flash is installed
16) Many new pre installed apps that are not necessary and cannot be uninstalled
17) My BlackBerry USB cord no longer charges the phone thru my PC
18) Cannot supress the pop up for the Media Manager each time I plugged my phone into the PC
19) Phone 'unlocks' itself
20) When pressing the lock button on the phone, the screen does not light up. After pressing it again, it lights up then goes dark as if it just recognized my first attempt to unlock
21) PDF's, have yet to successfully open a file since it takes forever
22) Icons on each home are not lining up correctly, lining up crooked
23) Clock widget with weather icon shows the sun/moon over the tempature
24) and almost as important as the battery, the signal is very inconsistent

Verizon has offered to send me a replacement, but it will not make a difference ...knowing the items above were not issues prior to 2.2 tells me it is not the phone, in fact, a buddy of mine with 2.1 update1 charged my extended battery and it charged must faster, and lasted all day ...oppose to yesterday when the battery lasted only about 2 hours on a full charge.

This new software is a joke! I hate to sound like a "complainer", but lets compare softwares ...the phone was flawless before 2.2, I refused the "certified/like new" replacement since its only a phone that didnt work for someone else and it was 'tested' by validating it turns on and off.

I apologize for sounding like such a downer on this ...but I have been thru many devices in my time with Verizon and I was so excited when I first received my Incredible ...it was everything I wanted in a phone, but now, its useless to me thanks to Froyo.

are you sure that isnt from froyo in-compatibility?    Maybe, just maybe Google put in some code for apps to be lighter on Verizon's network.  Either way, if an app isnt specifically made for froyo, it may have some problems.

Most of those could be fixed by doing a factory reset, and a full battery charge with the phone off over-night.

As far as the browser showing the last page visited  I have had that problem from the G1 to N1.  The way I close out of the browser now is always menu-->windows close the window and then back out.  It'll ALWAYS work, and no need for a task killer.

There is even a report of a new version of Froyo with a new radio for the Nexus One. So there may be tweaks here and there being released shortly for all 2.2 devices(minor update).

I have done two factory resets/wipe cleans but no improvement ...I gave up. The phone was useless since it always had to be plugged up.

Its heart breaking! I really like that phone
