Can't connect my Bluetooth to new Droid

I bought a, now defunct, DROID.  I already have a Bluetooth and am trying to connect to my Droid.  It won't find my Bluetooth.  I originally bought the Bluetooth with my old phone 2 years ago.  Is it not picking up because my Bluetooth is too old?

I've been puzzling over your question since yesterday. Do you mean that when you set up discovery with your headset that your Droid would not link with it? If you don't go through discovery first, the phone has no idea that a Bluetooth is there. Remember -- it's a computer, a child that has to be led down the path. ( GIGO )

I had no problem linking my original, and now my newer, Jawbones to my Droid via discovery. I did, however, find out that the phone would not do hands-free calling until I updated to FROYO 2.2 ( manual update, not the OTA ). After that, I had to get rid of the native voice dialing as it is just dismal and I bought Choice Dialer+ for $4.00 which works fine with my Bluetooth.

I hope this helps somewhat.
