What happens when you attempt to pair the devices, do you get prompted for security code and if so, what happens when code is entered and are you using the 0000 and 1234 default codes?

I got it connected to my 2011 Camry Type 3 radio but that is all. I really don't understand how to use any of the features of the connection to find out how they work. It needs more time than I have to figure it out. It did connect and works thru the bluetooth OK.

Couldn't find much in the docs other than how to pair up to another blue tooth device.

Nothing about what to expect in the way of hands free via bluetooth through a car stereo.

Nothing about whether it will play music and multiplex phone calls and gps functionality through the stereo via the bluetooth or whether the stereo should be able to operate the music player on the DX.

Have you asked your Toyota Service People? I haven't gotten that far but I wonder if they know. I feel the problem is setting the car radio up properly.

Your bluetooth will be limited to phone calls in most cases.  I haven't seen a radio that will pair and allow you to play content from the phone.  That's not to say they don't exist, just not common if they do.

For more Toyota specific info, to include their radios, try checking http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/index.php

If you radio is a2dp compatible the audio can be streamed through the unit but if not it will only play phone audio when using phone.  Just check option when pairing bluetooth, if you do not see the option then mostlikely streaming isnt compatible.

This information does not list the Droid X as far as I can see.

I have a 2010 Camry Hybrid with Navigation.  My DroidX and HTC Incredible both pair easily with the Car Phone input within the Navigation System.

Also, I can transfer Phone Contacts from both of the cell phones to the car; two separate phone contact lists.

Selected on the phone: Made the DroidX (or Incredible) "Discoverable".

Selected on the phone: Scan for available Bluetooth.

Observed on the phone:  Device "Discovered"

Selected on the phone: The discovered device.  It will say "paired" but "not connected".

Then, it is stated that my pairing code is 1212 and I entered that for connection; I am now "paired" and "connected".

True, the DroidX and the HTC Incredible are not in Toyota's list as well as many other phones.  The ones in the list are the ones they tested.  Many others work as well that they did not test.
