I have activiated the Mobile Hotspot feature on my Bionic, and am able to connect to devices wirelessly without a problem. Can somebody help me with using this application for tethering to a Windows XP computer?
Thanks!

Have you tried this already?
1) Connect Bionic to PC with USB cable.
2) On Bionic: Settings>Wireless & networks>Tethering & Mobile Hotspot> Then select "USB Tethering"
On Windows 7 this automatically creates a network connection between the phone and PC providing Internet access for the PC. XP is not as network-friendly as later Windows OS, but just thought I'd ask/suggest the obvious first.

What issue are you having connecting, there is a Mobile Hotspot app in the app drawer, once you activate the app you should be able to scan wifi signal on laptop and connect to the phone the same way as a wifi router...

Isn't the question about Tethering -- since that's the word used in the thread title? -- i.e., providing an Internet connection by physically tethering the phone to a PC with USB?
Yeah, Wifi Hotspot seems like it's a subset of tethering functionally, but on the Bionic they're referred to as two separate functions. It's listed under settings as "Tethering & Mobile Hotspot" and under that heading there's a choice for "Tethering" and a different one for "Mobile Hotspot".
Under Windows XP, connecting to a WiFi hotspot is no harder than on Vista or W7, but tethering via USB is not quite so automatic on XP.
I guess we'll know when/if the OP clarifies...

You are correct but I have seen more users call the Hotspot Option as Tethering, they normally don't acknowledge any difference. Usually the user have to search the web for drivers to get the tethering to work.
Try the drivers located at http://www.motorola.com/Support/US-EN/Support-Homepage/Software_and_Drivers/USB-and-PC-Charging-Driv...
