I've had the impression that the red Droid eye hangs around a lot longer since the update so I timed it while booting up. From its first appearance on the screen till it disappeared...1 minute and 37 seconds, which seems excessive, not to mention annoying. Anyone else having this issue or am I just too impatient?

Mine is much faster. Have not timed it, I will next time, but it is sure not a minute or more. On the other hand the eyeball showed up uninvited once yesterday when the phone re-booted on its own.

I just got my SCH-I510.EP4, Gingerbread update and my "red eyeball" splash screen just took 2 minutes, 15 seconds. This is much faster than I am used to. It had been taking around 5 minutes. Just this morning it took 20 minutes. Perhaps this was due to update downloading or an abnormal, almost-ready-to-update boot process.
