Battery USB charging problem

EDIT: Nevermind the main message below, other than good info  ((( ...anyhow it seems I was 100% correct that the drain from the X is much higher than usb will charge, unfortunately, unlike some other android phones,...you dont get a message advising to use AC power to charge.)))

Ok...

got my phone today..... plugged in the usb cable to my pc and whoalla! droid x came to life!!  Noticed right off the bat that this thing gets HOT to the touch in back. took about 3 hours to charge to 100%. I was not happy to find that this thing drained completely dry within 2 hours of playing around with it...all while it was still plugged in to my pc while charging.

so the question I have is....  is anyone else having this thing drain while its charging into your pc???   seems everything is ok, but its as if the drain output on this is more than the charge input(at least from usb--not sure about a/c)

anyone else having this issue?  also charging  is sooooooooooo slow with pc as well.

not happy about this

Yes  you are correct, the AC power should still charge at same voltage, but I believe the amps are higher which = faster charge.
