Battery Sucks

I recently bought the Droid X and after using it for awhile I gave it to my husband because I could not get use to how big it was. I then bought the Droid Incredible with 2.2 update, is it just me or is anyone else having battery issues? I can not go half a day with having to charge it at lunch time cause the battery plan sucks on this phone.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

the new update has Verizon and other apps constantly running and even if you use task killer, they start up again. Its a fix that needs to be propsed to Verizon so that they remove unwanted apps that we did not download.

The issue is constantly attempting to kill off those programs. The constant off and on will kill the battery.

it'll take some research, but after changing much of the settings and syncing, i can get a full day on one charge (with about 3 hours of actual use time). many people buy one of the extended batteries (1750, 2300, or 3500) but i like the slim design and have figured out how to get one day with what i consider average use.

I have also had several issues w/ the battery ...but yesterday I downloaded "Startup Cleaner 2.0" which allowed me to prevent SEVERAL applications from starting up, including Amazon, Skype, Stocks, VZ Navigator, Peep, News, Flickr and an any other system apps and the battery life improved dramatically, as well as charging much faster. Its a free app and works well ...I downloaded ATK to make sure those apps were not running and they weren't. The app was recently updated to support Froyo (wow, this is sounding like a plug) I since uninstalled ATK

I don't know if anyone else will have the same luck, but it helped me out a lot.

Can you guys tell what kinds of applications installed from market on your case? Personally I would like to have a wide test to see which kinds of application may affect the battery life~

i have over 100 apps of all types. some use gps too. i know the batteries aren't great, but i REALLY believe that many of these people need to play around with their settings. i get over 2 (nearly 3) hours of actual use and a full day (20+ hours of standby) off of one charge and i have the stock battery. i spent time changing the brighness (30% and it still rocks!) and synch and update settings. if you are going to be actually using it (brwose, text, apps, and calls) for more than 2-3 hours....then yes...you will have a hard time getting through the day and you will want an extended battery. i consider myself a moderate or average user??? i text throughout the day, browse and make and take a few calls. like i said, i am actually using it for 2-3 hours and it is on standby the rest of the day and i have no problem getting through the day.

There is one solution that I have not seen mentioned yet - get an extra battery!  Go to eBay, buy an extra battery and a charger - the kind of charger that plugs in the outlet with the battery inside it.  I did this and I never worry about my battery life.  Charge up the extra battery, throw both the charger and the battery in my purse and I'm good to go.  Even if you don't want to purchase a non-OEM battery, just get the charger and buy a Verizon battery.  I had the same set-up when I had a Blackberry.  Works like a charm!

Do you have Wi-Fi turned on? That drains the battery. Unless you need it just activate mobile broadband.
