Whoever helped me initially with the Droid sold me the "universal" aka cheap generic pda case to go with the phone. I have had crappy battery life since i got the phone, and did some research today. I noticed that every time I took my phone out of the case, I would get connected to car dock message. Researched the two to see if they are related. They are. The magnet in the case causes the Droid to think its in the car dock, and runs in that mode constantly. This creates a drain on the battery, according to the Android forums. I called customer support about it, but of course they claimed ignorance and said they wouldn't swap out the case since it has been 30 days. I will order something else online, but will not buy any case/accessories from Verizon.
