The new file structure of the bionics are odd. They are partitioned weird and the whole media storage part is odd. Seems like Motorola was asleep at the wheel when someone approved this functionality.
Now off to complain about my poor signal and pi$$ poor 4g speeds.

Same here, no option to move to SD, only option is to move to Media Area.
It appears there is a 4GB storage where it installs apps by default then you have the option to Move to Media area which is 8GB of internal storage.
There is no option to move to SD and my SD card is still empty.
I also don't see how this is now, "Solved," as I do not see a resolution other than, "We are looking into it."
This is really annoying and I only have 1 week left to return the phone.

Your apps are still installed. Just power cycle the Bionic (Turn it off for 12 secs and turn it back on). Then go and move what apps you can off the Media Storage. Power cycle again and repeat moving apps until all are off the Media Storage. Then you will have no issues with apps disappearing.
It seems to be an issue with the internal SD card being called Media Storage. Causes apps to get "lost" and then "found". Im leaving apps on my phone until a hotfix comes out to make it able to put Apps on my removeable SD card.

...apparently you cannot update apps from the media storage either...youll receive the 'insufficient memory' of 'invalid packet' error. i agree with the previous post, its not necessary to transfer these to media area since there is so much internal memory on this thing anyway

I had an app disappear as well. I downloaded it from the market and used it. The next day it was gone. Did this three times & gave up. Then 3 days later it was in the list and has been there since. **bleep**

Normally I would agree that the storage space should make it unnecessary to move apps to the media area. However, my Bionic has this losing apps problem, combined with another problem.
My Bionic tells me that there is no more room for apps when the app storage says its 375 MB full out of 3.6 GB. So even though there appears to be enough space, it won't let me install a new app unless i move an existing one to the Media Area. Then, the one in the media area disappears!!! Motorola needs to fix this very promptly. Needless to say, it is a frustrating issue.

I agree with ctrlaltdel121 this is in no way a solved solution. Everytime I connect my bionic to my computer in any way other than just charge only I lose all the apps I moved to the media center portion of the phone. The only reason I moved those apps there anyways was a low memory warning that prevented me from downloading another app when in fact I had plenty of memory this is one of the most frustrating and rediculous glitches I have experienced with any android phone to date and I have tinkered with many of them. I want a real fix not a 1 month old message saying we are working on a fix. This is getting down right rediculous
