App updates error

I get the following error half way through updating apps all at once: "the application Market(process com.android.vending)has stopped unexpectedly please try again. Does anyone know how to fix this or if its fixable?

Hello pparsons30. I understand your concern for not being able to update your apps on your device promptly and I will be happy to assist you. You will want to go through your settings and unistall the apps by selecting Uninstall Updates, then try to update your apps. If this process does not work, you will need to do a hard reset on your device at which you will need to backup all your app data and after the reset, you will have to reinstall your apps. 

Doing a Hard Reset:

From the home screen, touch the applications tab(located at the bottom of the display).

Touch Settings.
Touch Privacy.
Touch Factory Data Reset.
Touch Reset Phone.
If presented, enter the current passcode or draw the unlock pattern.
Touch Erase Everything.

you can also check for updates on your phone under settings>about phone>system updates. this should also include app updates if my understanding is correct.
