Any reasonable customer service appreciated.

Last night, it just so happened my Droid X was a year old and the car charger stopped working.  I went into the store at Hamilton Marketplace where I bought it and the store was pretty empty with nobody waiting for technical support. I registered and walked to the back desk and the guy tells me someone will be with me in a minute.  I tell the second guy why I am there and he looks at the charger and tells me they didn't sell this.  I repeated that I had bought it there.  Then he starts talking to the first guy and tells him that this isn't their charger as if I no longer exist.   I tell him again that I bought it there.  He then looks at me again and tells me all of their charges have the Verizon logo on it and must have been bought at at a non-Verizon store.  So, I scream at the guy, "Stop calling me a liar. I bought it here with the phone part of a $90 box of accessories." Then, he gets scared and tells me he is not calling me a liar.

I ask him if it is still under warranty. He doesn't answer coherently. The first guy says there is only a 90 day warranty on chargers which if true is a joke.  I ask him to show me where the chargers are.  He shows me one.  I leave.

Here's my question: Is it Verizon's intention to make customers despise them because if it is they are doing a great job?

Fantastic OEM Motorola chargers are about $5 or less on Amazon.  Not worth a rise in blood pressure by getting angry.  When you see that you are getting nowhere with a customer rep, just walk away.  Write a letter to Corporate if you must.  Save your anger for something worthwhile and stop buying accessories at Verizon unless it's a deal like the half-priced extended batteries for 4G phones.

i've found that many other items advertised as meeting oem specs are cheap for a reason.

True, but I've found that the Motorola car chargers are really OEM Motorola not just meeting OEM specs.  I've bought  6 or 7 in the last two years for my family.  Along with left over Blackberry, Droid 1, Droid 2, Droid X & X2, Bionic, and Razr Maxx chargers I'd say we are not charger poor.  🙂  Batteries I'm a little leery of and only buy from Verizon or Motorola.

Another good buy is the case and holster from Superior.  It's the same as the ones sold in Verizon stores.  Superior makes it for Verizon.
