Another idea that might diagnose all the problems some of your are having

Anybody having problems should list ALL the APPS you have added to your Charge phone.  Every one! 

Then maybe we can see some added APP or APPS that are common to the phones that are not working properly.  This is doubly important for those folks with the flash camera, cannot connect to data, and dropped calls problems.

Each person could do it in a single post and it's really not to much work.  On the other hand this is a great opportunity to use the power of the internet for a large group of people to diagnose a problem.

My Charge phone has worked perfectly.  To date I have not not one problem.  The only APPS I have added are:  Stock Quote, 12CFinCalc, Speed Test, MSNBC.con, and CNN. 

By the way, the first APP I installed WAS Juice Defender, a battery saver APP, but noticed that sometimes it restricted me from connecting to the 4G network and "that is something up with which I will not put." 

The result was, I immediately UNinstalled Juice Defender and even found the backup copy it had put in my files and removed it too.

I actually tried that with the Droid X and after seeing the number of apps that users loaded to their device made isolating one almost impossible but I hope it works better for Charge.

there is no way an app or any data stored on an sd card for an app could ever be the problem.
